The CUNARD building in Liverpool
The prestigious CUNARD building in Liverpool was built between 1914 and 1917, it was once the headquarters of the shipping company CUNARD STEAMSHIP, the building provided administration, accommodation and ship design facilities. In 1960 CUNARD vacated the buiding and moved their operations for Southampton, the property was purchased in 2001 by Merseyside Pension Fund and today is occupied by private organisations developing local business, photos from 26th August and 15th September during the visit of QUEEN MARY 2 to the city

HMS LIVERPOOL to retire
HMS LIVERPOOL built by CAMELL LAIRD at Birkinhead in 1980 is to be withdrawn from active service, the ship returned in November to Portsmouth after a seven months deployment in Lybia. Photos of the vessel at Portsmouth on the 27th November 2011

"QUEEN MARY 2" for the second time in the city
Amazing QM2, largest passenger liner ever built visited Liverpool for the second time in her career, the event took place last thursday, the 15th and what a beautiful warm sunny day it was, the city as always contributed to this special occasion with thousands of people watching her docking at Liverpool just past midday and the farewell was spectacular with thousands present for the fireworks, she is not due next year, but QUEEN ELIZABETH the new CUNARD ship will return to the city after her maiden call this season just one week before the Mary. "QUEEN MARY 2" VISITS LIVERPOOL TOMORROW
The greatest liner ever built is visiting Liverpool tomorrow for the second time, the ship is due to dock at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal at 12.15 and stay until 22.00, when major fireworks are organized for the departure of this majestic ship, if you planning to photograph the QM2 on her way in, probably the best spot would be the New Brighton Promenade by 11am, Mersey Ferries is of course organizing various cruises to see the ship at berth, if you haven´t booked it yet please do asap, last week sold out with the QUEEN ELIZABETH, just a few suggestions for a very important day for the city of Liverpool, photos included from October 2009 first time the QM2 was in Liverpool

Tall Ships main attraction at the Liverpool Riverside Festival
The visit of the tall ships to any port in the world is a wonderful event, the atmosphere that generates and the ambiance are quite unique, Liverpool was of course no exception, this is still one of the most historic seaports in the world full of Maritime History and sea heritage, the tall ships were opened to the public during last week end and of course the population of this great city turned up in their thousands to visit the vessels, photos here included shows some of the tall ships that visited Liverpool, 11th September 2011, BESSIE-ELLEN, MERCEDES, PHOENIX and the resident ZEBU

The Riverside Festival at Liverpool
the Riverside Festival is back at Liverpool after a six year gap, it all started last thursday the 8th with the visit of new CUNARD ship "QUEEN ELIZABETH", other activities included P1 Power Boats, Jet Ski Displays, Wakeboarding, Water Sports Activities, also the tall ships have been opened to the public as well as historic resident vessels, like the tug BROCKLEBANK, the festival will end this thursday with the visit of Majestic "QUEEN MARY 2", the greatest liner ever built, in the meantime the festival has other activities going on every day, please check posts below for the full program, photos from the 11th September

"ARCADIA" leaving Liverpool
The P&O CRUISES "ARCADIA" visited Liverpool last August on the 26th, this beautiful ship is due to return next year, June the 22sd is the date, it was one of my most enjoyable photographic moments recently, I have a soft spot for this ship, I have seen her before but the Liverpool Cruise Terminal and its proximity to the cruise ships makes it a step forward. LIVERPOOL STILL LOVES CRUISE SHIPS
