THE OLD PIER HEAD AT LIVERPOOL
There is a lot of controversy about the future of the historic PIER HEAD at Liverpool, the pier is facing an uncertain future and is a miserable sight to watch at the moment, the city wants to increase the number of cruise ships visiting this beautiful city but the conditions on offer are far from good, even the present so called CRUISE TERMINAL is nothing but a platform where the ships dock. Photos included show the old PIER almost connected with the new platform, the ferry MERSEY SEAWAYS can be seen on the second and the cruise ship VISION OF THE SEAS manouevring towards her berth, 16.06.2011

CRUISE SHIP VISION OF THE SEAS AT LIVERPOOL
I was back in Liverpool today to photograph the VISION OF THE SEAS, she is a beautiful cruise ship operated by ROYAL CARIBBEAN, she was built in 1998 by CHANTIERS DE L´ATLANTIQUE in France, the vessel is 78.491 GT and has a cruising speed of 22 knots, unfortunately the weather was not very good, cold for June and no sunny spells at all

LIVERPOOL MIXTURE OF THE OLD AND THE NEW
I love the contrast of these two photos, first image takes us back to the 18th century, well almost, second modern day city life with cars and tall buildings, but you can also find a ship mixed with the cars, somehow a cozy ambiance, photos taken on the 7th June 2011
