"QUEEN VICTORIA" in Liverpool to remember the RMS "AQUITANIA"

This weekend just ending was a spectacular one for the city of Liverpool and CUNARD with the visit of the 2007 built QUEEN VICTORIA. To celebrate the 100 years of the maiden voyage of another very famous CUNARD ship, the RMS "AQUITANIA", this beautiful ship nicknamed the "SHIP BEAUTIFUL" departed Liverpool on the 31.5.1914. QUEEN VICTORIA arrived on the 30th was treated to a warm welcome and fireworks later in the evening. Yesterday she left at about 3.45 pm with thousands wishing her "Bon Voyage" not just at the Cruise Terminal, but also at Birkinhead and New Brighton. The new cruise season is truly underway in Liverpool, one of the highlights for 2014 is without a doubt the visit of the CUNARD "QUEEN VICTORIA", the ship will arrive on Friday the 30th of May and leave the following day, the event will mark the 100 years anniversary of the maiden voyage to New York of the 1914 "RMS AQUITANIA". Cruise Ships at Liverpool last week-end

Last week-end was busy for CRUISE-LIVERPOOL, two passenger ships called at the city, the "AIDAcara" on Saturday and the "CELEBRITY INFINITY" on Sunday, two more visits, the BREMEN on the 11.9.2013 and the BOUDICCA  a couple of days later will mark the end of the season  this year for the city of Liverpool. 2014 will see a record of 52 visits, with three new ships calling for the first time, the MSC MAGNIFICA, EUROPA 2 and the RUBY PRINCESS. Cruise Ship visits to Liverpool last week

Three cruise ships visited the city of Liverpool this last week. The first one was the "DISCOVERY" on 16.5.2013 on her third and final call this year, the "QUEEN MARY 2" the following day on her third visit to the city of Liverpool and yesterday, 18.5.2013 the "CELEBRITY INFINITY" on her maiden call to the Mersey, she is expected to return this year for more three visits, the last one on the 1.9.2013 she will disembark and embark her passengers at the Liverpool Cruise Ships Terminal. Photos showing the "DISCOVERY" and the "CELEBRITY INFINITY", unfortunately could not make it this time for the "QM2" but you can check other posts and photos showing the ship in Liverpool on this Blog during her previous two visits.
